Restroom Cleanliness Key Indicator For Businesses

More than nine in 10 Americans stated that the overall condition of a business's restroom is a telling indicator of whether or not company management holds its workforce in high esteem.

When it comes to customers and prospective employees determining how much a company values its workers, the bathroom may be the best  place to look, a recent poll suggests.

More than nine in 10 Americans stated that the overall condition of a business’s restroom is a telling indicator of whether or not company  management holds its workforce in high esteem, mainly from a standpoint of its cleanliness, a new poll from plumbing and fixture installation  firm Bradley Corporation revealed. And it appears as though businesses are doing a good job in this respect. Approximately 62% of individuals  polled said that the condition of their employer’s bathroom was “very good” or “excellent.” Only 6% of respondents said that the quality of their  workplace’s lavatory was substandard.

The findings were sponsored by the Milwaukee, Wisc.-based firm, which manufactures commercial handwashing products, as part of its fifth  annual Healthy Hand Washing Survey.

While a clean restroom is important for all businesses, it’s particularly crucial for restaurateurs, given that chefs, dishwashers and wait staff frequently handle food, silverware and plates. The ubiquitous “employees must wash hands” signs typically found in establishments reflects this being vital and may shield restaurants from litigation should a patron be sickened after consuming mishandled food. RC4 Insurance Agency LLC, provides businessowners insurance protection that can help in the event restaurateurs are brought to court over food poisoning, which may stem from chefs’ failing to wash their hands properly.
